Orchestra Miami proudly presents Aaron Merritt, Cello &
Tao Lin, Piano in Recital to Benefit Orchestra Miami
Join us on Sunday, June 8th at the beautiful and historic Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Miami as Orchestra Miami principal cellist Aaron Merritt and Chinese-American pianist and Steinway Artist Tao Lin present a recital to benefit Orchestra Miami. Please join us for a drinks reception with the artists following the concert!

The program includes Beethoven's Sonata N. 2 in G Minor, Op. 5 and
Louis Vierne's Sonata in B Minor, Op. 27.

Beethoven's Second Sonata for Cello and Piano bursts with drama, invention, and youthful intensity. Written during his early years, it balances grandeur and intimacy, giving both cello and piano equally expressive voices.
Louis Vierne's Sonata for Cello and Piano, composed amidst the upheaval of World War I, offers a hauntingly beautiful contrast. Its lush harmonies and poignant lyricism reflect the composer's inner turmoil and resilience. Performed together, these two sonatas invite us into vastly different emotional landscapes - one bold and Classical, the other deeply Romantic and reflective.

All proceeds go to supporting Orchestra Miami. All donations above the ticketed value are 100% tax-deductible.
